Self estimate of the notorious A1C

For the last few weeks my fasting numbers have been almost perfect and thats a good thing. However I have been curious how to figure out my A1C mathematically. Just to see where I'm at at this point. Yesterday I found a website that will give you a round about estment of your A1C. Here is the link https://www.accu-chek.com/us/glucose-monitoring/a1c-calculator.html#  if anyone cares to check it out and give a whirl. Now..if I have the number correct... my A1C for the last 44 days is 5.63. That is based on the total amount of my am readings for the last 44 days which is 5,059 and was divided by 44 (days) Which means my A1C has gone down 1.38 since my last lab work 1/15/2015. This gives me a grand total of a 9.37 drop within the last nine months. Even if my number is off a little... it will still put my A1C in the normal range. Now I know this site isn't 100% accurate bu it does give you a decent ballpark number to work with. I'm very happy with my numbers and I truly hope it stays this way but we all know how fickle our crazy little pancreas is. As far as I know there is no cure for Diabetes...just good control and a good attitude. Neither are easy but it's better than giving up. SO... No matter how many ups and downs the future hold for my Diabetes....I know I can handle it. So can YOU! Have a great week all!

Strange Days. 9/18/2016 Greetings all, well it has been a long while since I posted any updates on my health issues. Not much to say really. My fasting numbers still doing good and blood pressure is still stable. However I am having more issues with my vision. I go in the morning to see the eye doc. I'll be getting pictures on my eyes and such. My left eye is the one that is giving me the most problem. I know I have a bad stigma in the left eye and more than likely I will end up going blind in my left eye. I'm not sure what will happen or what he may tell me tomorrow. He may want to do eye surgery again but I'm not sure. For now I will just have to wait and see what the deal is. I also have gained some weight. About 20lbs. My own fault I know. Not sure what is going on in my head the last few months. I don't understand why I am doing all the wrong things when I know better. I have not given up. I suppose I just got off track somehow and I am struggling to get back...

Another Quick Update

Another Quick Update 8/17/2014 Hey guys, For the last few days my blood sugar level is getting lower every day while my energy level is going up! This morning it was 109! I give credit to the Invokana increase and the low carb diet I am on. I'm pretty happy with the low numbers but at the same time I have to make sure I eat properly to avoid sugar crashes. It's always some balancing act to deal with when it comes to Diabetes isn't it? it's all good because for now.. I feel great. I am still waiting on the test results form the massive amounts of blood I spilled for the cancer center. I have a feeling they won't find anything but you never know. The doc says if everything comes out negative then it wants to send me to a specialist for Infectious diseases. He says there must be a reason why my white blood count is high. The last time my doc check my W.B.C it came in much lower...around 1300. The test before that it was 1700. If I understand it right... it should...

Good News Everyone!

Good News Everyone! 1/8/2016 I just got my lab results in and my A1C is 5.77 which is good and I am so relieved. I was worried about it being too high due to all the confusion with my meds. I am SO happy right now! That's my Good News Everyone... Have a great weekend...!
