Breaking Carb Habits is Hard to do... DAMMIT!!
3/21/2016

Greetings all or just to myself,  The one thing I have noticed about myself is that the less I spend energy the less I crave carbohydrates. However the the more energy I do spend the more I have bad carb cravings. This is what I try to do but unfortunately I don't always accomplish it. If I do eat carbs I try to eat good carbs.  Veggies, nuts and foods high in fiber. Not lately. Which sucks because I know better than to eat  a lot of fried foods, breads and my all time favorite food... PIZZA! Healthy Carbs aren't always on hand for me to eat so I eat whatever. Not a good habit but I've learn to listen to my body. I do question myself if it's my body or my mind telling me I'm hungry. It isn't always easy to know what is what. This carb craving has been pretty bad the last week. Dale and I have been doing a lot of yard work almost everyday. I am sure that is why I have been so hungry lately. It's not easy to keep your Calories count under 2018 when you are cutting trees and doing a lot of physical labor.
The good news is my weight has gone down by almost 10lbs. I have been trying to keep a close eye on my Blood Sugar level during all this extra energy spending. My fasting readings have been up and down a great deal. However nothing too high  or low. I think if I can have more good carbs on hand I may be able to improve my fasting readings. I really want to get to a point where I no longer need meds but that may not happen. I'm okay with that really. Between the yard work, workouts and controlling my food intake... I feel pretty good. It's been years since I have felt this good. It's very rewarding. I still work to do on improving my diet but I'm on my way. As long as I keep pushing through the good days and bad... it's all good.
Have a great Spring all!
